Friday bash: The Mount Si High School powder puff game was as exciting as ever with
the seniors, of course, getting the win in the end. Genevieve Weber takes the ball
for the seniors and turns up field. The cheer squad for the seniors strikes a pose for
the camera. Expert running back Heather Brietenbach makes a cut on her way to
a touchdown.
DUVALL — In four years of competition at Cedarcrest High
School, Eric Pedeferri has earned a total of 12 letters. Placed end-to-end, those
letters spell out MALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR.

Fancy footwork: The Seattle Sounders Select Women’s
team will be playing a game at Mount Si High School against the
California Storm July 8 at 1 p.m., with pre-game activities
starting at 11 a.m. The team features Mount Si High graduate and
WSU standout Lindsey Jorgensen at goal keeper. The Select
Women will compete in the provisional Pacific Northwest Division of
the W-League, a women’s league in the United Soccer Leagues
(USL). There are 36 teams playing in the W1 and W2 divisions and
the Sounders Select intend to join the W-League as a
full-fledged member in 2001. Tickets for the event are $5 each with a
complimentary ticket for that night’s men’s Sounders game
included. They can be purchased at the Valley Record offices or
through Bev Jorgensen at (425) 888-4351.
