Arriaga commits to program

North Seattle Community College Head Coach Billy Rodgers

announced last week that Mount Si High basketball guard Jason Arriaga will

attend that college and play for the second-year team.

Arriaga, 6 foot 4 inches, led Mount Si to a fifth-place finish in the 3A

State Tournament this year. He finished his senior year averaging 17 points

and 8.5 rebounds per game. His honors include being named to the

All-Tournament Second Team, First Team for KingCo, the Eastside All-Area

Team and he was the leading scorer in the KingCo league. Arriaga was also

the first runner-up for the MVP award and was selected to participate in the

All-State Basketball Game in July.

“We are very fortunate to get a player and person the quality of

Jason,” Rodgers said. “His hard work, determination and will to get

better will serve Jason well in the future. He brings a lot of energy each time

he steps on to the court.”

“Jason was one of the top guards in the state; he will be a very

important part of our success next season,” he added.

The North Seattle Community College Storm enters their second

season as a member of the Northwest Athletic Association of

Community Colleges (NWAACC).
