Both smart and athletic: Cedarcrest High School’s women’s track team was recently
announced as the Academic State Champs. Their collective GPA was a 3.8. The team consists
of Jodi Sprague, Sarah Gustat, Lindsay Peterson, Abby Kwait, Ashley Grant, Jamie Brooks,
Anjuli Brady, Sara Sage, Lauren Trocano, Rachel Sale, Maile Marshall, Candice Shepard, Yingman
Law, Kelly Ramirez, Katie Mauer, Erin Kendig, Morgan Jackson, and Adrian Blair. Josh Garcia is
the Athletic Director for Cedarcrest; Marc Hillestad is the head coach; Art Kuehn, Lisa Wendell
and Bruce McDowell are all assistant coaches.
Sibling combo: Bri and Marc Medley have shown their
golfing talent recently with Marc qualifying for the State Golf
Tournament and sister Bri going as a first alternate. Both are avid golfers
touting their parents as their biggest influence. Bri is a sophomore
at Cedarcrest High School and Marc is a senior.

Mount Si varsity baseball, after a disappointing 1999 season, has
come back and made the state playoffs. To get there they had to get
through league rival Liberty (14-4), a team that was on a three-game winning
streak.
Riding the dependable pitching of Alison Moorhead and the big bat
of Dana Luizzo, the Mount Si varsity softball team snatched the final
berth in the Sea-King District tournament this week.
