JV baseball wins another
Nick Harpel pitched five strong scoreless innings to extend
the Wildcat’s winning streak to five games in a row. The Wildcats took
advantage of a few Issaquah errors to score two runs, and the defense played solid
giving up only one run to beat Issaquah 2-1. The Wildcats are now 6-2
in league play.
`Cats suffer first loss
Despite Bruce Opsal going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, and
Nick Harpel having three singles, the Wildcats were unable to hold on to a
two- run lead to suffer their first loss of the season to Skyline, 6-5.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead, but the Spartans came
back to within one run. Key hitting in the top of the sixth gave the Wildcat a
two- run lead, but allowed the Spartans to tie it up at five runs in the bottom
of the seventh. The Wildcats were unable to produce any runs in the top of
the eighth, and the Spartans offense exploded to score the winning run in
the bottom of the eighth to take the win 6-5.
