Local golfer gets hole in one
Kathy Tachell of Snoqualmie recorded a hole-in-one at Mount Si
Golf Course last week on hole 11. The hole is 160 yards and Tachell used a
five wood. This was her second hole-in-one at Mount Si with her last one
sunk on hole eight several years ago.
Rainiers coast
to win
The Snoqualmie Valley Pony team evened their record Tuesday night
with some timely hitting and strong defensive efforts coasting to a 12-9 win
by defeating the Bellevue Olympic #2 team.
Snoqualmie Valley jumped out to a 12-5 lead and never trailed in
the game. Outstanding pitching by the trio of Luke Landdeck, Brad
Trombley and Alex VanOeveran, along with the best defensive performance of the
year by the Rainiers, were combined for the victory.
The win evened the Rainiers record at 2-2 going into
Saturday’s game against Mount Lake Terrace #5.
“We have been out-hitting our opponents but have made some
untimely errors that have cost us games,”
said coach Warren Sheldon.
However, the team did a great job in getting the outs when they
needed them. Great hitting by Landdeck, Nick Sheldon, Zach Krammar,
Trombley, Jimmy Fleming and Jay Lewis provided the punch, and fine
defensive efforts by Matty Secord, Corey Roe, Jimmy Nyberg, Michael Keys
and Gary Conner made it a complete team effort in securing the victory for
the Rainiers.
Sheldon says that this team keeps improving with every game.
“Hitting has been our strong suit and now the gloves seem to be
showing signs of coming around,” he said. “We look forward to further
improvement as we get into the middle of our schedule.”
