Local actress Robin Walbeck-Forrest will perform her one-woman show, “Tits & Asphalt: Why I Walk for Breast Cancer” at Valley Center Stage in North Bend to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.

Show dates are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16. Admission cost is a “pay-what-you-can” donation.

The show chronicles Walbeck-Forrest’s experiences walking in a two-day breast cancer event in Canada over eight consecutive summers.

“The breast cancer cause is very important to me and I am equally passionate about theatre,” she said. “It made sense to bridge the two in order to reach out to others.”

Originally produced in 2007 at North Bend Theatre and The Connection in Bellingham, the show was updated and performed at Valley Center Stage in February 2012 and November 2013.

Walbeck-Forrest has been a paraeducator at Two Rivers School in North Bend for the past three years and has been involved with theater for more than 30 years. She received a bachelor’s degree in theatre at Western Washington University and is regularly seen at Valley Center Stage, most recently in “Becky’s New Car.”
