Indivisibles stage local Women’s March in North Bend Saturday

Snoqualmie Valley Indivisibles, a group of 8th Congressional District voters, organized their own Women’s March in North Bend Saturday, Jan. 20 in the spirit of the Women’s March 2.0 taking place in Seattle and across the country.

A light drizzle didn’t dampen their enthusiasm for the event. The march was just one of several thousand marches in small communities across the nation, and local participants were among the millions who filled the streets across the country.

According to Sherene Sturtevant, who co-hosted the North Bend march, “I couldn’t march in Seattle due to other commitments, and we thought “let’s just do it right here…We are very concerned about the direction this administration is going and the negative impact it will have on women, immigrants, the LGBTQ community, and our environment.” She added, “Staying silent is not an option.”
