Area resident, Jim Garhart, has contributed to a new book “Discover Mill Creek,” written by his aunt, Virginia Garhart Peterson.

He will accompany his aunt to a book signing when the book is released, 7 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 14 , at the University Book store in Mill Creek.

Garhart is the transportation director for the Snoqualmie Valley School District, and a member of the Bothell High School Class of 1974.

He is also on the State Board of Directors for the Washington State Association of Pupil Transportation.

The book explores the Garhart family farm, where Garhart grew up, during the two generations it was an active sheep and cattle farm, as well as the nucleus of the Mill Creek area.
