Volunteers needed for flood cleanup at Carnation farms

The Snoqualmie Valley Preservation Alliance (SVPA) is circulating an online sign-up form for volunteers to help clean up flood debris at farms in the Carnation area.
The form, on the website SignUpGenius, has weekend opportunities, both to help with clean-up and to bring snacks and drinks to those cleaning up.
“In response to the overwhelming support from our community, SVPA is organizing volunteer clean-up days to help farms, businesses and landowners located in the Snoqualmie River valley,” the website states.
Volunteers will complete tasks such as cleaning up outdoor trash and flood debris; cleaning up indoor infrastructure such as barns, sheds and greenhouses; and fixing fencing. Volunteers should wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty, waterproof shoes, rain gear, work gloves and warm layers.
SVPA may add more volunteer opportunities in the future. Those interested can stay updated by re-checking the website or following SVPA’s Instagram page @the_svpa.
Those who would like to provide a monetary contribution can donate to SVPA’s Farmer Flood Relief Fund at wagives.org/story/floodrelieffund.
