Wildcat girls secure win over Juanita, travel to California for tournament play

With its first conference win of the season secured Dec. 20, the Mount Si High School girls basketball team went into the winter break on a high note.

Both varsity and JV played Juanita at home last week, and both came out with the win. Varsity won, 48-36 and JV won 55-50 in overtime.

In the varsity game, sophomore Nitika Kumar led the team scoring with 19 points for the night. Captains Sam Smith and Lauren Wilbourne also scored seven each. Smith also pulled down seven rebounds.

The team plays next in the Surf-n-Slam tournament in California, but returns to Mount Si Wednesday, Jan. 3 for a home game against Skyline.
