Published 12:30 pm Monday, March 28, 2016

The Arbor Day Foundation named the city of Duvall a Tree City USA on march 15, in honor of the city’s commitment to effective urban forest management.

The efforts of community volunteers Kirsten Lints, Phil Bennett, the Cedarcrest High School Future Farmers of America, and assistance from the Mountains to Sound Greenway helped the city achieve the recognition.

Duvall will celebrate its first Arbor Day as a Tree City, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in McCormick Park Saturday April 23 as part of the city’s annual Earth Day celebration. Free native trees and shrubs will be provided to the public as part of this community event.
