Knowledge Bowl team earns wins spot in state championship

Two Mount Si High School Knowledge Bowl teams competed in the Feb. 27 4A Regional competition at Mount Tahoma High School.

Mount Si’s “A” team finished third in the event of 50 teams, qualifying to advance to the State Knowledge Bowl competition Saturday, March 19, in Arlington.

“Mount Si’s B Team did wonderfully too and had a great last two oral rounds, having the highest score in each of those rounds in their competition,” said Knowledge Bowl advisor and science teacher Kevin Knowles. “I am so very proud of these wonderful, academically-strong young people I have been coaching all year in preparation for this competition!”

Mount Si’s A Team, called the “Mount Si Psychics,” includes seniors James Radek, Will Kramer and Ryan Moore and juniors Casey Harris and Autumn Capper.

The B Team, “Mount Si Sidekicks,” includes juniors Annika Laufer, Noah Vaughn, Preston Henning, Donovan See, Mary Nelson and Coleman Trader.

The Mount Si High School Knowledge Bowl Club meets every Monday, in room 122 from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
