Who will you root for?

Levies to pay for the building and maintenance of a Snoqualmie community center with pool, exercise facility and meeting rooms will be on the Nov. 7 ballot. Don’t know which way to vote? Don’t worry: There’ll be a public debate Oct. 18 between members of the levy pro and con committees.

Folks on both sides of the issue may not agree if the city needs a community center with a pool, but they all want voters to have the facts to make up their own minds. The debate will be moderated by The League of Women Voters and people may submit questions on cards for committee members to answer.

Of course, the evening isn’t just about learning the facts of the levies or getting all riled up about a contentious issue, it’s also about family fun. Mayor Matt Larson and City Council members will be serving rootbeer floats from 6-7 p.m. Pat Anderson, city attorney and Snoqualmie Falls Brewery president, once again donated his signature rootbeer and Village Foods IGA donated the ice cream.

This is an opportunity to meet your neighbors, elected officials and city staff, share concerns and suggestions and ask questions.

The Cascade View PTSA will provide childcare for children more than 2 years of age from 7-8:30 p.m. Space is limited.

Reasonable accommodation will be made for persons with disabilities. Call the city administration office at (425) 888-1555 if assistance is needed.
