New owner for Valley Greeters

Pam Whittington of Snoqualmie takes over the business from
North Bend resident Lisa Downer. Whittington is 10-year property
and homeowner in Snoqualmie. She decided she’d had enough of her
commute into Seattle, so the day after her 50th birthday, she submitted her
notice to the Noel House, an emergency homeless-women’s shelter where
she served as fund developer and resource coordinator.
Whittington said she wanted to work in the community where
she lived and felt she was in the right place at the right time. She thinks the
Valley Greeters transition will bring a renewed energy in welcoming new
residents to North Bend, Snoqualmie and Fall City.
Valley Greeters was established in 1996 and collaborates with local
merchants and professionals.
New residents receive a complimentary package filled with gifts
and a resource notebook filled with valuable coupons, business flyers
and community resources. Valley Greeters’ Website, www.snovalleygreeters.com,
is designed to target newcomers to the Upper Valley. The organization’s
goal is to generate awareness of local services and businesses, and to
encourage residents to shop locally.
New residents may schedule a welcoming package and visit at
anytime. Call Whittington at (425) 888-6343, or
e-mail thegreeter@snovalleygreeters.com.
