Franchised instructor Karen Clark began leading Jazzercise classes in
the Snoqualmie area on March 20. A unique combination of effective
exercise, jazz-dance movements and popular music, Jazzercise is the No. 1
fitness program in the world. Clark is one of 4,700 certified instructors
conducting classes for more than 450,000 students throughout the U.S.,
Canada and 38 other countries.
“Jazzercise offers a great package of fitness and fun,” explained
Clark. “The workout conditions every part of your body, from cardiovascular
system to your muscles, and the music, choreographed dance routines
and friendly, noncompetitive atmosphere make it enjoyable.”
According to Clark, the program is distinguished by its
jazz-dance based, choreography, class structure, instructor training, and suitability
for participants of all ages. Jazzercise founder, Judi Sheppard Missett,
continually choreographs new routines to keep the program fresh. The 65- to
70-minute class includes a warm-up, an aerobic segment, muscle toning
and flexibility exercises and a cool down.
“During class we show ways to tone down or increase the intensity
of each routine, so everyone can work at his or her own pace,” said Clark.
“No one has to feel held back or pushed beyond his or her personal ability.”
Instructors may also offer classes in several alternative formats,
including Simply jazzercise, Jazzercise Lite, Jazzercise Plus, Body Sculpting
by Jazzercise, Step by Jazzercise, Circuit Training by Jazzercise,
Personal Touch Jazzercise and Musical Chairs by Jazzercise. Some instructors
lead Jr. Jazzercise classes for children ages 3 to 12.
Clark offers classes Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings at
9:30 a.m. at the Snoqualmie Center of the Performing Arts, located at 38601
S.E. King Street. For more information, call Clark at (425) 888-0705 or
