Hearing set for Truck Town sewer ULID

People owning land east of North Bend have one chance to convince City Council members whether or not to make property owners pay for a proposed sewer extension to the Tanner and Truck Town areas.
A public hearing will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2, to form a utility district to pay for the sewer extension. The hearing will take place at 7 p.m. in the North Bend City Council meeting room at the Mount Si Senior Center, 411 Main Ave. S.
By state law, the formation of a Utility Local Improvement District must be preceded by a public hearing. In 2005, property owners representing 50 percent of the land area in the proposed ULID – which roughly extends from the city’s irregular eastern boundary to the Tanner and Truck Town areas and includes neighborhoods in between – petitioned the city to start the process to create a ULID.
