Local chiropractor Dr. Leslie J. Bedell recently passed the
advanced proficiency oral and written exam in Portland, Ore., for the Activator
Methods Chiropractic Technique.
Dr. Bedell, a Palmer graduate, has been practicing for 13 years in
North Bend.
“Since beginning the Activator technique in my office two years
ago, my practice has increased 30 to 40 percent,” she stated. “I decided to
open on Mondays to cover the increased patient load.
“Over 80 percent of my patients who tried the Activator technique
and analysis decided to switch to that technique. They said their chronic
conditions improved and they didn’t need to be adjusted as often. They also
liked the fact that they didn’t feel any discomfort during the adjustment
and were more relaxed.
“Teens who are active in sports have shown remarkable
improvement with shoulder, knee and ankle injuries and have been able to continue
playing while doing rehabilitation at home and getting chiropractic
adjustments,” Bedell concluded. “I now feel
totally comfortable treating people who are injured, as well as geriatrics and
pregnant women with this safe and gentle treatment.”
Activator Methods is the most widely used and requested
low-force adjustment method in the world, used by over 31,000 doctors
internationally. Activator Methods has a referral
system through their web site at
www.activator.com for all doctors who are proficiency rated. Now
patients can find a doctor in another region if they more or are traveling.
Locally, Dr. Bedell can be reached at her clinic, Agape Chiropractic,
at 145 E. Third St. in North Bend, or by phone at 888-1670.
