ELLENSBURG – With a running game that was difficult to stop and a passing game that found its target, the Mount Si Wildcats defeated the Ellensburg Bulldogs last week 41-12.

Lee Briggs, left, and Gil Pettersen, were the guests of honor at last Friday’s grand opening of the Mount Si sports complex. The pair played on the first-ever Wildcat football team in the fall of 1944. Pettersen is credited with having scored the very first Mount Si touchdown against Kent in that same year.
