Gymnasts take on state champs

The Mount Si gymnastics team hosted last year's state champs, Issaquah, as well as non-league teams Sehome and Olympia last week. Issaquah won the meet 171.550 to the Wildcats 143.150 but several gymnasts had outstanding performances.

Casey Stinnett had a great meet, placing sixth on the vault, ninth on the bars and 10th in the all-around for Mount Si. Katie Osiadacz placed seventh on the vault, eighth on the beam, fifth on the floor and sixth in the all-around. Alisha Fischer placed fifth on the bars and eighth on the floor and all-around. Anika Granillo competed on the beam for the first time and did an amazing job. On the vault, Stinnet had an 8.1 for the Wildcats, Osiadaca had an 8.0, Fischer a 7.70, Sam Baldwin a 7.650, Sarah Lewis a 7.20, Jill Buck a 7.10, Holloy Borroff a 6.40 and Tiera Welsh a 6.30.

On the uneven bars, Fischer scored a 7.20, Erika Jensen scored a 6.75, Stinnett scored a 6.70, Lewis scored a 6.40, Buck a 6.35, Borroff a 6.05, Welsh a 5.50, Osiadacz a 5.35 and Cassie Irwin a 4.70.

On the beam, Osizdacz scored a 7.65, Jensen a 7.20, Lewis a 6.50, Fischer a 6.20, Stinnett a 5.80, Baldwin a 5.80, Welsh a 5.80, Anika Granillo a 4.50, Stephanie King a 4.0 and Irwin a 3.40.

Finally, for a the floor routine, Osiadacz scroed a 8.35, Fischer a 7.80, Jensen a 7.10, Stinett a 7.10, Lewis a 7.10, Borroff a 6.65, Baldwin a 6.60, Buck a 6.25, Courtney Rambo a 6.20 and Christina Johnston a 5.60.
