Wildcats blow past Bellevue

The meet started with the 171-pound class where Pano Dreves defeated the Wolverines’ Eddie Mills by pin, at the 2:29 mark of the second round. Jack Stinnett had problems at 189 pounds, losing by pin to Bellevue’s Kyle Emmerson at the 1:34 mark of the first round. The big man, although about 30 pounds lighter, Trevor Moore, won by pin in the 215-pound class by pinning the Wolverines’ Brenden Lopez at the 1:22 mark of the first round. Dex Moetulvi lost by major decision to Paco Ward in the 275-pound class, 6-15.

At 103 pounds, the Wildcats’ Kyle Heath defeated Jamie Bryce by pin at the 57-second mark of the first round. Jacob Lund lost by a 2-6 decision to the Wolverines’ Yuki Kasahara at 112 pounds and teammate Joe Taklo fell to Bellevue’s Kosuka Sekiguchi by pin at 119 pounds. The two losses back to back put the score at 19 for Bellevue, 18 for Mount Si.

Mike Montgomery redeemed his teammates by winning an 11-5 decision over Tichi Kasahara at 125 pounds. The Wildcats’ Dallas Liebe followed and lost a 2-7 decision to the Wolverines’ Michael Gut at 130 pounds but Jordan Sypher came back at 135 pounds with a pin of Bellevue’s Blake Simpson to put Mount Si up 27-22.

At 140 pounds, Jay Dochnahl won a 14-7 decision over Bellevue’s Cory Montgomery and brother Zach lost by pin to his Bellevue opponent at 145 pounds at the 1:43 mark of the first round.

Mac Donnell won a close 11-9 decision over the Wolverines’ Kurtis Santillanes to give Mount Si a 33-28 lead and Kenny Morrison iced the win at 160 pounds by pinning his Bellevue opponent at the 1:42 mark of the first round.
