With the high school tennis season right around the corner, Mount Si High School is in need of a head coach for the boys tennis program.

Adults who are interested in coaching high school tennis have an opportunity available to them, since the previous program head, Gary Olson, recently resigned. Olson had held the post for six seasons, but due to a change in employment, he was unable to continue to coach the team.

Those interested in applying for this position can call Mount Si High School assistant principal/athletic director Greg Hart at (425) 831-8107.

Meanwhile, high school players have a chance to sharpen their skills in advance of the season.

Eastside tennis pro Vince Gregory is currently taking registrations for his summer camp at Mount Si High School for high school players.

Camp is 5 to 7:30 p.m., Aug. 18 to 22, at the school tennis courts. Cost is $120.

Sessions will whip players into shape for the upcoming high school tennis season, which, as always, is expected to be tough in Kingco 3A. The campers will learn new skills and fundamentals that help them get better in the sport.

Campers will need to bring their own racket and non-marking tennis shoes.

For more information and a registration form, call Gregory at (425)313-3131 or e-mail him at vgtennispro@yahoo.com.
