Winter weather advisory says snow could hit the foothills tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a snow advisory for the east Puget Sound lowlands, from 1 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 20. A warm front will bring snow to the area late tonight, with average accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, but up to 4 inches in some areas. The snow is will likely cause slippery conditions for morning commuters, but it's expected to turn to rain by Friday afternoon.
