Umpqua Bank hosts forum on affordable housing Wednesday

A community wide affordable housing forum starts Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Umpqua Bank in North Bend. The event, organized by Umpqua Manager Rob Wotton, will bring together city leaders, developers, Valley employers and transportation experts for a discussion on all aspects of the issue.

A community wide affordable housing forum starts Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Umpqua Bank in North Bend. The event, organized by Umpqua Manager Rob Wotton, will bring together city leaders, developers, Valley employers and transportation experts for a discussion on all aspects of the issue.

“It will be kind of a presentation on where we’re at today, so that everybody can e ton the same page,” Wotton explained.

The agenda for the forum includes a look at the definition of a healthy community and the mix of housing that it would include, a developer’s perspective and a discussion of affordable housing initiatives. Officials from North Bend, Snoqualmie, the Snoqualmie Tribe, Snoqualmie Valley School District and King County staff from the departments of human services, planning and Metro are scheduled to attend. Several non-profit groups and private sector parties will also take part.
