The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) is recommending $1.1 million to reconstruct Railroad Avenue SE with sidewalk, roadway and utility improvements in downtown Snoqualmie.

The Snoqualmie project is one of five projects recommended to receive nearly $3.4 million in funding from PSRC’s Rural Town Centers and Corridors Program.

PSRC is looking for public comment on the projects through August 9, 2013. A final decision on the funding awards will be made by PSRC’s Executive Board in September. Also out for public comment are five contingency projects in line to receive funding should any additional monies become available.

Snoqualmie’s Infrastructure Improvements are among five projects selected for $3.4 million in funding, including work in Kingston, Monroe, Buckley and Snohomish.

Back-up projects in line should more funding become available include Carnation’s Tolt Avenue Central Business District Improvements, which could receive $735,000 for design work.

PSRC established the Rural Town Centers and Corridors Program to help rural communities make improvements to their town centers and corridors.
