Pasado’s Safe Haven, a non-profit group established by Susan Michaels in 2007, investigates animal abuse cases and provides sanctuary and adoption services to rescued and abandoned animals. Pasado’s goal is to help animals that “fall through the cracks” and are not able to find shelter through other animal welfare programs in Washington.
The weather looked gray but summer storms made way for Carnation’s exciting Fourth of July celebration, held last Friday. Runners cruised down the main street for the annual Run for the Pies run and walk, and downtown was packed for a big grand parade, kick-started by hundreds of children with a mini-parade all their own. Vendors, musical entertainment, family activities, food and fireworks filled out the day.
