Fathers ride free

at train museum

The Northwest Railway Museum invites children to treat their dads to a special train ride aboard the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad on Father’s Day weekend, June 20 and 21.

Fathers ride free all weekend when accompanied by their paying children of any age.

Last year, over 500 dads enjoyed a free ride with their children during the two-day event.

Trains depart every 75 minutes beginning at 11:01 a.m. from the Snoqualmie Depot, 38625 S.E. King Street and at 11:26 a.m. from the North Bend Depot, 205 McClellan Street.

Roundtrip fares are $7 for children ages 2 to 12, $10 for children ages 13 to 61, and $9 for ‘children’ ages 62 and up.

Donate to help Baby Corner

Members of the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs will be collecting food, new and slightly used clothing and toys for Eastside Baby Corner, 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the North Bend QFC and the Snoqualmie Ridge Grocery.

Eastside Baby Corner collects items that children use from birth to age 12 and distributes them, free of charge, through service care providers directly to families in need.

Items that are always needed include long pants for boys and girls, sweatpants and sweatshirts, tennis shoes and warm coats. The organization always accepts cash donations “in all sizes” to pay for formula, cribs, car seats and diapers for local food banks.
