Letters | Salute to all the volunteers who made the Carnation Fourth a special one

It was another amazing Fourth of July Celebration in Carnation! Thank you to everyone who participated in the 5K Run for the Pies, the parade, Hot Rods & Harley show, 3 on 3 Basketball tournament and all the vendors. All of you make the Fourth of July Celebration great. Thank you to everyone who watched and visited all these events. Over at Tolt MacDonald Park, we had live entertainment which began with the Cascade Community Theatre's performance of the “Temptest” followed by Greg Brooks Duo, Ben Parrish and the Jack Ballard Band.

All of you make the Fourth of July Celebration great. Thank you to everyone who watched and visited all these events.

Over at Tolt MacDonald Park, we had live entertainment which began with the Cascade Community Theatre’s performance of the “Temptest” followed by Greg Brooks Duo, Ben Parrish and the Jack Ballard Band.

Renee Wolf, a sophomore at Cedarcrest High School sang the national anthem.

We had so many people in the park, I think the largest to date. We had great vendors there as well, plus the beer garden was back and was a huge hit. To end the evening, we had the best fireworks show ever! It lasted 22 minutes, and the Western Display Fireworks Company did an outstanding job this year. We love working with them and having them return year after year.

We could not put this event on, without our awesome committee and sponsors.

This year, Mother & Child Natural Medicine was our parade sponsor. CleanScapes sponsored all the garbage and recycling. Our other sponsors include, Tolt Machine Works, BTP, R.C. Zeigler Company, Pete’s Club Grill, PhysioCare, Ixtapa, Benjamin Asphalt, Carnation Chamber of Commerce, Roth Hill, Ogden, Murphy Wallace, Cascade Community Theatre, Duvall Safeway, Remlinger Farms, Hopelink, Duvall Fitness, Tolt Yarn & Wool, Sno-Valley Senior Center, Carnation Storage & Tolt Laundry, Sandy’s Espresso, Plateau Runner, Snoqualmie Falls Brewing Company, EF Printing, CEP, CERT, the Riverview School District, the City of Carnation, the Carnation/Duvall Police & King County Parks.

Our committee includes ;Theresa Tenney, secretary; Suzanne Maxon, treasurer; Denise Crutchfield, web-designer and beer garden; Nicole Pitts, 5K Run for the Pies; Matt Coltom, 3on 3 “Just Moo it” basketball tournament; Roger Jones, Hot Rods & Harley’s show; Dee DeMeir, vendors; Brian Pattinson, sound and stage; Collienne Becker, facilities; Alan Sinsel, King County Parks; Joshua Bushman and Bill Fletcher, volunteer coordinators; Ken Carter and Bill Ferry, city of Carnation; and Carey Hert, police.

Plus, a huge shout out to all our volunteers who came to help us out. We had the Cedarcrest Cheer Team, the LINK Crew from Cedarcrest, plus many many friends & family members who came out to volunteer.

Thank you, we will see you all next year on the Fourth. I hope you had as much fun as we did,

Kim Lisk
