Thursday, May 5

False alarm: At 11:51 a.m., firefighters responded to the IGA supermarket when an automatic fire alarm was reported by the alarm company. When firefighters arrived at the scene the alarm was not ringing and the store manager told them it was pulled accidentally and just needed to be reset. The staff were advised on the proper procedure for when a fire alarm goes off and to focus on evacuation until the fire department identifies the problem.

Sunday, May 8

River rescue: At 3:53 p.m., firefighters helped the King County Sheriff’s office track down a subject that had escaped from police. The subject jumped into the river off of S.E. Reinig Road, Snoqualmie. Firefighters found the subject, removed him from the river and transported him to a hospital for treatment for hypothermia.

Monday, May 9

False alarm: At 10:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the Snoqualmie Tribal offices. The alarm was set off by painters and reset by security staff.

False alarm: At 7:18 p.m., firefighters responded to a false alarm at the Snoqualmie Ridge TPC club house, which was set off by staff cleaning the pizza oven.

False alarm: At 8:26 p.m., the same pizza oven at the Snoqualmie Ridge TPC set off the fire alarm again.

Wednesday, May 11

Barrels: At 8:09 a.m. firefighters received a report of barrels that could possibly contain hazardous waste on Douglas Avenue S.E. and Snoqualmie Parkway S.E., Snoqualmie. Firefighters found seven barrels labeled non-hazardous materials. The responding crew was informed the barrels contained dirt core samples and the company that owned them was going to retrieve the barrels at a later time.

Vehicle fire: At 12:10 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters and Eastside Fire and Rescue responded to a vehicle fire on Eastbound I-90 at the Milepost 25 overpass. The fire was extinguished and the accident was turned over to Washington State Patrol.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 13 medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 374.
