North Bend gymnasts score
Two level-six North Bend gymnasts competed at Blooms and Blossoms Meet 2004 hosted by Gymnastics East in Bellevue recently. Georgia Reynolds and Miranda Roberts, both competing for Gymnastics East, did well at the meet.
Reynolds won second place for all around at level six in the 11-year-old age group. She had a 9.0 on the vault, 8.475 on the bars, 9.125 on the beam and 9.0 on the floor. Roberts, competing at the same level, had an 8.45 on the vault, 8.4 on the bars, 8.3 on the beam and 7.8 on the floor.
Thomson places first
Melissa Thomson of North Bend placed first in the level nine, Junior A division in the Washington State Gymnastics Championships hosted by Emerald City Gymnastics. She scored a 9.225 on the vault, 9.625 on the bars, 9.125 on the beam and 9.375 on the floor.
Local rower finishes first
The Sammamish Rowing Association of Redmond achieved several first- and second-place finishes at the Green Lake Crew Spring Regatta at Green Lake recently. Jan Gifford of North bend was on the team that took first in the 4×1,000 meter race, notching a time of 3:43.49. Other team members were Tawney Roller, Tammy Smith and Theresa Knakal.
Sammamish Rowing Association in Redmond is the only rowing club on the Eastside offering recreational and competitive programs for everyone, 13-18 to seniors (65 and above). Anyone can row and Sammamish welcomes new rowers, novice to advanced.

Sign up for adult softball league
It’s time for the big kids to warm up their throwing arms as the Snoqualmie Softball League signs up players on a first come, first served basis beginning in March. The NSA-sanctioned adult men’s, women’s and co-ed league will play all games at Centennial Fields in Snoqualmie starting in July. There will be 14 games in the regular season with seven weeks of doubleheaders. League entry fees are $550 per team, including the 2004 NSA registration fee.
