Fall City librarian to retire

Many may know Ethel Renner as a familiar face at the Fall City library – someone who helps them sign up for their first library card, find books or use the computer. As a longtime Fall City resident, Renner has her finger on the pulse of the Fall City community. But, as of March 31, that finger will more likely be digging in the garden than paging through books because Renner is retiring from the King County Library System after 22 years.

Renner made Fall City her home in 1967. Originally from Montana, she moved to Port Orchard to attend business school. She worked in Toppenish for six months, then married and moved to the Fall City Mobile Court. In March of 1973, Renner and her husband moved into their current house on Southeast 44th Place and have been there ever since.
