Encompass presents full lineup of program for children, families this fall

This fall, Encompass has packed its calendar with free and low-cost family enrichment programs throughout the Snoqualmie Valley and into the Sammamish area.

A new program that Encompass kicked off in September is Connections, a free program that provides resources, information, and social support for families with children receiving pediatric therapy services (at Encompass or elsewhere). Connections offers monthly workshops in the Upper and Lower Snoqualmie Valley as well as monthly social gatherings.

Also for parents, the popular Moms group is becoming a largely online community forum with quarterly in-person meetings around the Snoqualmie Valley. Parent Talks cover a variety of parenting topics with informal, drop-in sessions scheduled around toddler story times at libraries in North Bend, Snoqualmie, Duvall, Carnation, and Fall City.

Encompass will continue to offer free parenting workshops at the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA and Sammamish Community YMCA. Each month will have a different topic, and childcare will be available onsite.

Kinship Connection Support Group is a group for relative caregivers that meets monthly at the Sno-Valley Senior Center. They often have joint meetings with the Encompass CHERISH group, for foster families.

On the second Saturday of most months, Encompass offers Parents’ Night Out, an opportunity to drop kids off with professional teaching staff for four hours of playtime and a meal, so parents can have a night to themselves.

Safe Kids 101 and Super Sitters classes will also start this fall. Sibshops provide peer support, guidance, and information to typically-developing siblings of kids with special needs in a lively, recreational setting.
