Snoqualmie has earned a Municipal Excellence Award from the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) and will receive the award at the annual conference which runs from June 21 to 24 in Everett.

The city won the award in the “Making a Difference in your Environment” category for its work in promoting the Solarize Snoqualmie program. In a partnership with non-profit Northwest SEED, Snoqualmie helped facilitate the installation of solar panels in 47 homes.

The Solarize Snoqualmie program was one of five city projects chosen to receive the municipal excellence award this year. More than 50 projects from 281 Washington cities were submitted to the AWC for award consideration.
