Blotter | Silly string vandalism raises concern for caller; three people involved in boating accident

Police and fire agencies in the Snoqualmie Valley responded to the following calls:

Snoqualmie-North Bend Police

Saturday, May 14

Animal problem: At 8:48 a.m., a caller reported spotting a coyote standing on the railroad tracks at the Northwest Railway Museum, Snoqualmie. The caller was concerned about rabies, since there were people in the area.

Silly string: At 11:41 a.m., a caller on Snowberry Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie reported that someone had vandalized his vehicle with silly string. The caller told police he was afraid someone would hurt him. Police had no suspects.

Tuesday, May 17

Reckless driving: At 12:21 p.m., two vehicles recklessly driving around Torguson Park in North Bend were reported to police. The vehicles were speeding and fishtailing. Police gave the drivers a warning.

Theft: At 9:20 a.m., the theft of a bicycle from Silent Creek Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie was reported to police. The bike was valued at $2,200.

Disturbance: At 8:06 p.m., a caller reported to police that a man was yelling at him for riding his bike on a trail at Fairway Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie. Police determined that no crime had occurred.

Thursday, May 19

Assault in progress: At 2:45 p.m., police responded to an assault in progress on the 200 block of Bendigo Boulevard N., North Bend. Two women were reportedly fighting over a parking issue. While police were on the way, one of the women left and was last seen driving toward I-90.

Theft: At 2:45 p.m., police were called to the 40 block of S.W. Mount Si Boulevard, North Bend after a subject stole a drink. Police were able to retrieve the stolen item.

Found property: At 11:17 a.m., police found a chrome children’s mountain bike in Snoqualmie and claimed the item as found property.

Friday, May 20

Animal problem: At 6:23 p.m., a bear was reported in the backyard of a home on S.E. Isley Street, Snoqualmie. The caller said bear activity had increased recently.

Saturday, May 14

Smoke: 4:52 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of white smoke in the area of 352nd Avenue S.E. They found an unauthorized burn at the address, which was just south of 96th Street, in unincorporated King County. Firefighters told the home owner that a lot of smoke was settling low in the houses to the north and he agreed to put out the fire.

Monday, May 16

Alarm: At 1:38 p.m., the department was called to the old Snoqualmie Valley Hospital (now the Snoqualmie Tribe administration building) for an automatic fire alarm. Firefighters arrived to find the building evacuated with no signs of fire from the outside. They determined that the alarm system had been reset before they arrived, making it difficult to find out what had caused the alarm. Security staff at the building said it was likely from construction being done downstairs, and there was no sign of fire. The crew left the building in control of security on site.

Wednesday, May 18

False alarm: At 2:45 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were dispatched to St. Joseph’s School for an automatic fire alarm. They contacted school staff, who said there hadn’t been an alarm.

Alarm: At 9:44 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a commercial automatic fire alarm at Peak Sports & Spine. They contacted an employee, who said a piece of equipment in her massage room had started to smoke. The crew checked the room and reset the alarm.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 12 medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 394.

Friday, May 13

Seizure: At: 11:26 a.m., firefighters responded to a patient who had a seizure. The patient was evaluated at home and taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

Back pain: At 5:23 p.m., the department assisted a patient who was experiencing back pain. The patient was evaluated and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

False alarm: At 6:55 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a commercial automatic fire alarm. The alarm turned out be false.

Boating accident: At 11 p.m., King County Sheriff’s deputies requested the department to examine three subjects who’d been involved in a boating accident. All three were evaluated and left with the deputies.

Saturday, May 14

False alarm: At 8:14 a.m., firefighters responded to an automatic residential fire alarm. The alarm was false.

Monday, May 16

Short of breath: At 1:14 a.m., the department assisted a patient who was experiencing shortness of breath. The patient was evaluated and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Band-aid: At 8:06 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a patient with a cut finger. They gave the patient a Band-Aid.

Tuesday, May 17

Back pain: At 7:28 a.m., the department received a report of a patient experiencing back pain. The patient was evaluated and taken to a hospital.

Wednesday, May 18

Accident: At 6:56 p.m., firefighters responded to a motor vehicle crash. One person was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Thursday, May 19

Tree down: At 5:50 a.m., firefighters were called to a report of an apple tree that fell into the roadway. They cut up the tree and cleared the roadway.
