Blotter | Snoqualmie residents struggle with grilling chicken; late-night dumper gets items returned

Police and fire agencies in the Snoqualmie Valley responded to the following calls:

Saturday, April 16

Suspicious: At 6:30 p.m., police were called to S.E. Forest Street, Snoqualmie for to reports of sounds like gunshots. Police heard some of the noises as well but did not see or hear anything else.

Sunday, April 17

Suspicious: At 12:03 p.m., police received a call reporting possibly stolen items being dumped on the 8000 block of Railroad Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie. Police found the items, contacted the owner and discovered the items were not stolen.

Dispute: At 9:56 p.m., police received a call about a dispute on the 40000 block of S.E. North Bend Way in North Bend. A student trainee driver was drunk and was told she could not get onto the truck. Police separated the parties and gathered the subject’s belongings.

Monday, April 18

Malicious Mischief: At 8:23 p.m., police were called to a home on Cascade Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie after a report of a plant pushed over and several light bulbs removed from a box on the front porch. The total loss was reported to be approximately $450.

Tuesday, April 19

Suspicious: At 6:34 p.m. police got a call reporting a stolen cell phone on the 500 block of Thrasher Avenue N.E. in North Bend. A mother tracked down her daughter’s missing cell phone and the father located two men who had picked it up. The father chased them and they dropped the phone. Police were told the daughter left the phone on the grass and it was then taken by the two subjects.

Friday, April 22

Illegal burn: At 8:10 p.m., the department received a complaint about an illegal burn. Firefighters responded to the area, discovered the illegal fire and extinguished it.

Medical emergency: At 8:39 p.m., firefighters assisted a 33-year-old pregnant woman with a medial emergency. She was treated and transported to an area hospital via private ambulance.

Saturday, April 23

Illegal burn: At 1:38 p.m., firefighters responded to an illegal burn complaint and extinguished the fire.

Fall: At 9:29 p.m., the department was dispatched to a report of 3-year-old boy who fell. Bellevue paramedics evaluated the child. He was treated and transported to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Monday, April 25

Breathing trouble: At 1:36 p.m., firefighters assisted a 67-year-old man who reported shortness of breath. Bellevue paramedics evaluated the man, who was then treated and transported to an area hospital.

Tuesday, April 26

Alarm: At 12:22 p.m., Fall City Fire responded to a residential fire alarm. Firefighters determined the alarm was triggered by dust from construction and reset it.

No oxygen: At 8:39 p.m., firefighters assisted an 81-year-old woman whose oxygen had become disconnected. They reconnected the oxygen.

Cardiac arrest: At 12:46 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a report of a 69-year-old man who was in cardiac arrest. The man was dead at the scene.

Unattended fire: At 5:44 a.m., firefighters responded to an unattended campfire and extinguished it.

Sunday, April 24

Smoky chicken: At 1:33 p.m, Snoqualmie and Fall City firefighters were dispatched to an automatic residential alarm at a home on Fairway Avenue S.E. They arrived and spoke with the homeowner’s mother, who said she was trying to cook chicken on a grill, which created a lot of smoke. She was unable to reset the smoke alarm, since smoke was lingering inside the house.

Tuesday, April 26

Grilling out: At 6 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were called to a report of large flames coming from a grill at a home on Silent Creek Avenue S.E. They arrived to find no fire, but some burnt chicken on the grill. They spoke with the homeowner, who had put out the fire.

Wednesday, April 27

Alarm: At 8:17 a.m., the department was called to the Salish Lodge & Spa for an automatic fire alarm. Smoke from a fireplace had filled the library and the staff needed help clearing it out.

Medical aid: In addition, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 17 medical aid incidents, bringing the total calls to date to 329.
