Theatre Black Dog presents Harper Lee’s classic coming of age story, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” weekends April 22 through May 7 at The Black Dog Arts Café, Snoqualmie.
The show, adapted by Christoper Sergel, features actors from North Bend, Snoqualmie, Redmond, Issaquah, Ballard, and Seattle. Susan Bradford directs.
“To Kill a Mockingbird” is Lee’s autobiographical story of young Scout in the summer of 1935 in Maycomb, Ala., when Scout’s father, Atticus Finch, defended a man, wrongly accused of a terrible crime.
The relevance of this classic story of one man’s struggle for justice is applicable to today, with its power of telling the tale through the compassionate, questioning eyes of the children.
Showtimes are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, April 22 to 23, April 29 to 30 and May 6 to 7, and 4 p.m. Sunday, April 24.
Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the door. The cost is $12 for seniors and students, $15 for general admission.
