Winterlings bring their original music to show at Black Dog
Published 3:30 pm Saturday, March 19, 2016
Seattle indie folk duo The Winterlings will perform at 8 p.m., Saturday April 9 at The Black Dog in Snoqualmie in support of their recent release, “You Are Acres.”
Throughout the album, as at their live shows, songwriters Amanda Birdsall and Wolff Bowden take turns singing lead and playing guitar, violin, banjitar, ukulele, harmonium, piano and percussion.
The Winterlings will perform songs from their new album as well as favorites from their earlier release, such as “Jennie Hodgers” which tells the true story of an Irish immigrant woman who dressed as a man to sneak into the Union Army and fight in the Civil War. The song was recently featured in an Irish TV documentary about this unique historical figure.
