Affordable Valley housing forum plans a follow-up meeting

A second community forum on affordable housing is scheduled for 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, at Umpqua Bank, 146 West Second Street, North Bend.

The forum, launched last September with a capacity crowd in the Umpqua Bank Community Room, will continue the discussion begun by community members on the need for affordable housing in the Valley and how to create it.

Scheduled for the forum are opening remarks by North Bend and Snoqualmie Mayors Ken Hearing and Matt Larson, a discussion of Valley demographics, housing trends, tax incentives for multi-family housing units and a look at current development with a presentation by Imagine Housing on a proposed Snoqualmie Ridge development.
