City Council plans public hearing on truck stop prohibition

A public hearing on North Bend code changes regarding truck stops will be part of the next North Bend City Council meeting, 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at the Mount Si Senior Center, 411 Main Ave. S., North Bend.

The city is considering amendments to its code to prohibit development of a new commercial truck center. The prohibition is already in effect in the city, but only as a temporary measure; a formal vote by the city council is needed to make the code change official.

Citizens are welcome to comment during the public hearing, or they can send written comments to North Bend City Clerk, P.O. Box 896, North Bend, WA, 98045, or send e-mail to soppedal@northbendwa.gov. All written comments must be received by 4 p.m. Monday, March 14.
