EFR fire agencies want to reconnect with former firefighters

Former volunteer firefighters who served with King County Fire District 10, King County Fire District 38, King County Fire District 35, Issaquah, North Bend, and Carnation are invited to “re-connect” by way of email with the Eastside Fire & Rescue family.

With the growth of the agency and the combination of fire departments that came by way of mergers, contracts, consolidations, and annexations, leaders at EFR suspect that some alumni have been left out of announcements related to special events, promotional ceremonies, retirements, well-being of former workmates, deaths, and other matters that would be of interest to those that served previously.

Fire Chief Lee Soptich said, “Even though we focus on the future, we have to remain connected to the past. Much by way of institutional knowledge, traditions, and culture, was built on the backs of those that sacrificed before.  It’s critical that we remain tied to those that help to create what we have today.”

If you have served as a volunteer with EFR or any of the fire departments that became part of EFR, and would like to be included in the EFR Volunteer Alumni Roster, send e-mail to Public Information Officer Josie Williams at jwilliams@esf-r.org.
