Three die in nighttime plane crash on Mount Si

King County Sheriff’s Office reports that two men and a woman died in an early morning plane crash Wednesday on Mount Si.

Just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, several North Bend residents and two sheriff’s deputies reported hearing a crash.

According to sheriff’s reports, the single-engine Cessna 172 crashed on Mount Si, just north of the Little Si peak.

The sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter responded and found the plane Wednesday morning. Around 8 a.m., Search and Rescue team hikers reached the site of the crash and found the occupants’ bodies. There were no signs of survivors.

The sheriff’s deputies planned to remain on scene until the victims are recovered.

The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to investigate.
