Each elementary school in the Snoqualmie Valley School District sent its top readers to Cascade View Elementary School Friday, April 29, for the Battle of the Books championship, and Snoqualmie Elementary School’s Book Busters took home the trophy.
Cascade View’s team brought in a teddy bear for luck, while Fall City Elementary School’s girls clutched something red for each question. The Snoqualmie Elementary team sported sunglasses, a gift from team captain Julia Crumb.
The teams of five answered questions from a selection of 14 books in a quiz show format for the trophy. Both the books and the questions were selected by elementary librarians for the annual contest that Cascade View Librarian Susan Head called “The Olympics of reading.”
Book Busters members are Crumb, Pooja Chivukula, McKayla Felix, and Kami Smith.
