Tour historic company town at twilight

Step into the past and take a twilight stroll to Cedar Falls, a historic townsite and birthplace of Seattle City Light. Explore the remaining houses and discover the stories of those who worked, lived and grew up in this unique setting.

The site has been closed to the public since Sept. 11, 2001, but remains a working community with Seattle Public Utilities and City Light operations.

This event will feature:

* Marian Arlin, former Cedar Falls resident;

* Linda Carlson, author of “Company Towns of the Pacific Northwest”;

* Friends of the Cedar River Watershed;

* Displays, refreshments, photos, scavenger hunt and more.

Adults and families (children ages 10 and older only) should meet at the

Cedar River Watershed Education Center, just east of North Bend at Rattlesnake Lake.

The tours will take place Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8, from 6-8:30 p.m.
