Snoqualmie Valley Hospital opposes Swedish in Issaquah

Valley residents may not pay property tax for the planned 175-bed Swedish Medical Center hospital in Issaquah. But Snoqualmie Valley Hospital administrator Rodger McCollum, who has appealed the state’s approval of the big new Swedish facility in Issaquah, said that the Valley would pay for it in subtler ways.

There is a clear demand for additional medical services on the Eastside, said Kevin Brown, chief strategic officer for Swedish Medical Center.

“We have always felt there was significant need for a new hospital in the greater Issaquah area,” Brown stated when the new Swedish hospital was announced in June.
