Snoqualmie to host first-ever economic development conference

Published 9:28 am Thursday, October 2, 2008

Valley leaders will learn how to strengthen the local community during the Snoqualmie Valley’s first-ever Economic Development Conference.

“Strengthening communities while broadening the economic potential” is the theme for the conference, set for 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge golf club.

The conference is anticipated to become an annual event, Snoqualmie Economic Development Specialist Bob Cole said.

Anybody may attend. “We’re especially focused on inviting business owners, individuals working on commissions and committees, city council members, elected officials,” Cole said.

The conference is part of the city’s response to a recent study that urged more attention to economic development in the growing city.

“One of the things we want to get out of this conference is a clear understanding of what we can do with our downtown,” Cole said.
