King County hopes to sell Mount Si Bridge

Want to buy a bridge? Are you a government agency? Then the Mount Si Bridge may be for you.

King County doesn’t need the 93-year-old steel truss bridge spanning the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River near North Bend.

The 1914 truss is 171 feet long, 20 feet wide and is the oldest pin-connected Pratt Truss bridge in King County Road Services’ inventory.

It’s too narrow and old to serve for vehicular traffic but might serve for other uses, such as a bike path bridge.

Work is underway to build a replacement bridge that will be longer and wider, but still mirror some of the old bridge’s style.
