Get culture at library

Published 9:45 am Thursday, October 2, 2008

Children in North Bend and Snoqualmie have two chances to sing, laugh and learn about diverse cultures, thanks to visiting performers at local King County libraries.

Bilingual singer Marco Cortes, and the Oregon Shadow Theatre, are special children’s program presenters in March at the North Bend and Snoqualmie libraries.

Cortes, a musician and singer, will help young children learn and laugh in two different languages – English and Spanish – during an upcoming presentation at the Snoqualmie library.

Cortes’ program, “Cantado Y Jugando,” or “Singing and Playing,” will take place at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, in the Snoqualmie library, located at 38580 S.E. River St.

Recommended for children ages 3 and older, the event features music, songs and games from Latin America. Children can join in to sing with Cortes about fish, birds and farm animals.
