Cougs announce spring grads
Seven Valley residents received their bachelor’s degree from
Washington State University this spring.
The graduates were: Jason Jarett (sports management), Scott
Schroeder (criminal justice) and Paula Warren (recreation and leisure studies) of
Carnation; Ryan Mundy (business administration), Joshua Overland
(recreation and leisure studies) and Lisa Widell (business administration) of
Duvall; and Kyle Strom (civil engineering) of North Bend.
Mallett shines at CWU
Central Washington University sophomore Erin Mallett is doing
an internship through the school’s career development services with the
Seattle Police Department this spring.
The Fall City resident is one of 172 CWU students who are
participating in the internship program.
Luke graduates from UI
Shannon Marie Luke of Snoqualmie received her
bachelor’s degree in physical education this month from the University of Idaho.
Luke was among the 1,500 other students who received a degree
from UI this spring.
Mount Si Showcase returns
Everyone is invited to the Mount Si Showcase where students will
show their skills and creativity from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 12 and 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. on May 13.
Exhibits on ceramics, photography, drawing, painting and
horticulture will be set up in the commons. Local professionals will award
ribbons of recognition to outstanding projects.
Other events include:
• The Mount Si Horticulture Mother’s Day plant sale in the
greenhouse from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday;
• A performance of “Guys & Dolls” in the auditorium at 7:30
p.m. on May 12. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for students;
• The Burbanks _ featuring alumni German Briseno, Adam Pfeifle
and Jonathan Gottlieb — will rock the auditorium with Latin grooves at
6:30 p.m. on May 12 and at 1 p.m. on May 13; and
• The Mount Si Cafe will serve gourmet boxed meals for $4.50.
The espresso stand in the commons will also be open.

Child development clinic scheduled
The Snoqualmie Valley School District will hold a free Child
Screening Clinic for children ages 3 to 5 on Friday, May 16, at Snoqualmie
Elementary.
The screening will cover the areas of social development, large and
small muscle development, language skills, cognitive development and
hearing and vision screening.
Parents are encouraged to have their child screened if they have
any concerns over their child’s development.
