Mount Si’s girls softball team has a new coach on the roster this season, plus a strong group of athletes, making this season look exciting.

COACH: Lauren Liseth, head coach of the varsity softball team, is starting her first year coaching at Mount Si.

“This is my first year coaching, I’m really excited about it,” Liseth said. “It’s going really well, we had a great turnout, a lot of returning girls. It’s good to have such a strong team.”

Liseth said she is inheriting a strong team from the previous coach Larry White and will be working on helping them build their individual skills as well as team dynamics.

STRENGTHS: Mount Si Softball has strong batters and the players are generally strong athletes. Six seniors are on the team and are leaders for the younger members.

NEEDS TO IMPROVE: “Right now we are focusing on building our team communication,” Liseth said. The team is also striving not to settle with where they are ranked and is focusing to improve with the help of Liseth and the captains.

CAPTAINS: Nellie Joselyn and Jamie Trotto.

GAMES TO WATCH: Liseth said the game to watch will be against Woodinville, but in KingCo 4A all the games will be tough.

“Woodinville is always tough competition… I’m told they are good and I know they have a history of being a good program, so that will be one to watch.” Liseth said. “But anybody in this league is going to be strong. I don’t think there are and easy wins.”
