It has been a very successful spring for two Valley college athletes, Chelsie Eddings and Amy Trenkamp.

Eddings, a Mount Si grad who rowed for Gonzaga University as a freshman this spring, has just wrapped up a strong season with her Bulldog women’s novice rowing team.

The team just completed a great stretch of rowing, winning several titles. It started April 27, as Eddings and her second varsity 8-plus boat won its race at the West Coast Conference championships at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif., with a time of 6:56.5, 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Santa Clara. The Bulldogs swept all three contested races and won the WCC title.

April 29, the Bulldogs returned to the Sacramento course and once again were dominant in the WIRA championships. Eddings’ novice eight boat rolled to a victory with a time of 6:57.1, 17 seconds ahead of second-place Cal-Davis.
