It was a great weekend for a number of Mount Si track and field athletes at last weekend’s state 3A track meet in Pasco.

The boys finished 12th overall with 18.5 points; Everett won the state title. Junior Frank McLaughlin competed in a few events, and had a good meet. In the 200-meter dash preliminaries last Friday, May 25, the junior recorded a time of 22.61, good for fourth in his qualifying heat. He qualified for the finals as one of two top times after the top three finishers in each preliminary heat and last Saturday, May 26, he finished eighth with a time of 23.01.

McLaughlin also placed fourth in his 400-meter dash qualifying race last Friday with a time of 50.36. Like the 200 meters, the Wildcat qualified as one of the two top times after the top three in each heat, and last Saturday, McLaughlin did slightly better in the finals, with a time of 50.24, good for sixth place.
